Wednesday through Saturday, eleven in the morning until ten at night. The kitchen takes its last ticket at 9:45. The game room in the back is open to all ages until eight o'clock and after eight it is not, which is why this is two different rooms on the same night.

Before eight

Four booths, eight stools, and a back room a nine year old is allowed in.

Most of the tables between five and seven are families, and most of those families are eating in shifts, because one of them is in the back. The game room is a real room with a door, not two machines in a corner. There is a pool table, a dart board, two cabinets and a jukebox.

Everything is cooked to order. The patties are pattied here, the tenderloins are pounded and breaded here, and the fries are cut here in the afternoon. Carry-out runs about fifteen minutes, longer on a Friday, and it costs the same as sitting down.

A fried fish fillet in a foam carry-out box with chips and a tub of tartar sauce. — Friday catfish starts at four and there is a set amount of it. It is usually gone somewhere around eight, and when it is gone the fryer goes back to wings.

The game room stops being open to anybody under twenty one and the bar keeps going past the kitchen. The menu does not change. The prices do not change. The room does.

After eight

Same door, same fryer, and it gets louder at the back than it is at the front.

Domestic bottles and cans, two drafts, well drinks and a short shelf. Nothing behind this bar is complicated and nothing behind it is nine dollars. On Friday and Saturday the bar stays open after the kitchen takes its last ticket at 9:45, so the last hour of the night is drinks and whatever is still in the fryer.

Saturday is steak night after four. Ribeye or sirloin, cooked how you ask, with a potato and a salad. Six tables' worth come off that flat top on a good night, so call ahead if there are more than four of you.

Wings, mushrooms, pickle chips and onion rings run from $8. Kids' plates are six dollars with a drink. Carry-out is the same price as sitting down and we take a card at the bar or at the table. Prices on this page are illustrative for a design preview.
